A common comment I get on the regular…. “I’ll have whatever you’re taking.” “What kind of drugs do you take to have this much energy at 4am?” “How do you do this 7 days a week, don’t you get tired?”
And I’m not even mad about it. Lol.
The thing I’ve learned over the years of trial and error, tears and set backs, IS… there’s no magic pill for motivation. That shit comes from deeeeep within. When we decide that the habits we’ve been living with haven’t been working. That’s when the real shit hits the fan… that bullshit story you’ve been feeding yourself about why you can’t, you call yourself out on that.
I’ve figured out the key to success in this part of my life and for me that is that I’ve established rituals & routines so I don’t need to find motivation.
Why we lack motivation in the first place.
Burnout – this is huge in today’s society. This is a very unhealthy and unrealistic place. It is not sustainable & literally killing people. We are not meant to be marathoning through life, life is not a race. No matter what, life happens are there are always things that we need to sprint through to get through but that shouldn’t be our daily routine.
We need to find time to sit the fuck down. Whatever that looks like, take time to rest each and every day. For me my mindset tells me that I need to take care of my myself like the athlete I am.
FOCUSED ♡ : Mindset, nutrition, moving your body & resting regularly.
I think a huge part of figuring out why your lacking motivation & feeling shitty is truly unpacking those feelings. You’re also likely lacking some raw self love that you need to realign with.
I do this by giving back to myself with filling up my cup/ own needs. Things like, focusing on getting your energy back, more water, nutrient dense food, filling your self love cup up, compassion for yourself some sunshine and R E S T. Take a breath and find some peace in your day, be in gratitude for being alive. You have to be rooted and caring for yourself to make the changes to find your motivation through self love.
Figure out if this is mental or physical energy. They directly correlate with each other and check yourself.
NUTRITION – This one is huge! Nutrition = energy levels. Time to actually be real about what you’ve been shoving your face with. Lol. Pay the frig attention to how food makes you FEEL. Take your sups, micronutrients and vitamins are super important. Whole foods.
Drink your MF water. Half your body weight in ounces minimum per day.
Sleep. You can’t burn the candle at both ends. Your body needs time to regenerate ans heal. Especially if you lift or if you lead am active lifestyle.
Build routines that work for your lifestyle.
Doing something physical can literally pull you out of your own head. And inside your pretty little head is the brain, that makes every excuse not too. So trick it. Push yourself to do something active… I have never, ever regretted a workout. Not one time. Set small goals and you’ll usually out do them.
Where is your mindset focus. Forward thinking is a must! Live today, as today, not yesterday. Lovong in the past can crush all your goals. Ask yourself, what is the future I want to create? What are my why’s and align your tasks with your goals.
